History
Faculty of Economics, Yerevan Gladzor University started in 1991. First it was called Chair of Finance and Audit; later with the spread of new economic specialties was renamed as Economics. Now the YGU Faculty of Economics has its eminent place in the field of higher economic education, and within the last two decades several generations graduated from the faculty.
In 1992-1993 the first Head of the Department was Lukashen H. Badanyan, Professor of Economics, afterwards, Hovhannes K. Hovhannisyan (1993-2001), Professor of Economics.
Since 2001 Khoren A. Mkhitaryan, PhD in Economics, Assistant Professor, has been chairing the Faculty.

Faculty Activities
Faculty carries out the following procedures:
Drawing and adopting annual academic syllabuses.
Planning full-time and extra-mural education specializing in Finance and Credit, Accountancy and Audit and Management.
Presenting and confirming themes of individual and research works.
Contributing to Post-Graduate, Master ad Bachelor students’ research works.
Carrying out Practicum (Bachelor Degree- 4/8 weeks, Master Degree- 6/10 weeks) in RA Banking System, Ministries, commercial and non-commercial different organizations.

With a view to organizing effective educational process teaching is carried out via non-traditional methods and approaches: enforcing audiovisual teaching, computer-games, (i.e. Effective Service Management, Tourism Management), etc.
In addition, individual and research works have contemporary thematic nature presented through visuals.
Faculty students, as well as members actively participate in national and international seminars like “Global Financial Crisis- yesterday, today and tomorrow”, 2010.
