DEPARTMENT OF PHILOSOPHY AND POLITICAL SCIENCE

Department of Philosophy and Political Science of Yerevan “Gladzor” University was founded in 1991 and chaired by Stepan Stepanyan, a Doctor of Philosophy, upto 1997. Since 1997 Prof. Aram H. Sargsyan, a Doctor of Philosophy, Scientists and Supervisor of a series of research works, has been leading the department.
Department of Philosophy and Political Science bears the impact of such great scholars as Prof. Hrachik Shakaryan, a Doctor of Philosophy, Edik Harutunyan, Ph.D in Philology, Albert Nalchajyan, Ph.D in Psychology, Elia Zakaryan, Ph.D in History and Physics, Vilik Edigaryan, Ruzanna Mkrtchyan, Rubik Ohanjanyan, Ph.D in History and others.

Currently the personnel of the department comprises of nine lecturers and one laboratory worker.

Department of Philosophy and Political Science acts under the provisions of the Ministry of Education and “Gladzor” University Scientific Board strictly following autumn/spring curricula. Department has carried out significant research works in the fields of Methodology and Science. Department personnel not only complete teaching, as well accomplish thorough research. Thus, most of their works are published.

Department of Philosophy and Politics encourages in students sense of patriotism, promotes in them awareness, as well respect to human and civil merits. A series of events are held including speeches, answering numerous questions that worry students, organizing visits to galleries and historical-cultural sights.
