Undergraduate Program in English
The Undergraduate Program in English (leading to Bachelor Degree) is designed for students who wish to pursue careers in the teaching of English to speakers of other languages.
The program combines both theory and practice. In addition to core courses in English and linguistics, students in the program are required to take courses in the theory and methods of language teaching and teach in a supervised practicum in local schools.
Undergraduate Program in Translation
The Undergraduate Program in Translation is designed to be completed in eight semesters. The program focuses on the following:
- Translation studies;
- Practical language skills;
- Practical English-Armenian and Armenian- English translation;
- Studies in British and American cultures;
- Textual analysis, etc.
The practical translation courses concentrate on the development of general translation skills. Besides, translation in specialist fields is an obligatory component in the main languages offered by the Department.
Graduate Program in Culture Communication and Translation
Degree awarded: Master’s Degree.
Duration: 2 years.
Entry requirements: Interview.

The Master’s Program in Culture Communication and Translation is designed to give students a broad training in most aspects of contemporary linguistics, cultural anthropology language and culture, theory of translation, translation and interpretation, second language acquisition, sociolinguistics, etc. in addition, students will pursue the study of one area in depth through further coursework and thesis research.
The faculty represents a breadth of perspectives and professional experience in linguistics, communication, media, humanities and the social sciences.
The lecturers have strong records of achievements in professional activity. The Program leads to Master’s Degree in combining academic and professional work, with the objective of promoting the application of theory and research to contemporary issues and practices in communication and culture with a strong focus on translation.
Post-Graduate Program in Romance-Germanic Languages
Degree awarded: Ph.D. (candidate of Philological Sciences).
Duration: 3 years (full-time), 4 years (by correspondence), 5 years (post-graduate research leading to Ph.D).
Entry requirements: Master of Linguistics; 5-year diploma
