Yerevan “Gladzor” University Library started in 1990.
Currently, library is supplied with more than 14.115 items referring to a wide range of academic courses (Law, Economics, Journalism, Politics, International Relations, Sociology, Philosophy, Psychology, Foreign Languages and Literature, etc.). In addition to core academic copies, scientific literature and fiction, multilingual dictionaries and encyclopedias are also available.
Yerevan “Gladzor” University is headed by Marlena Margaryan and the good-natured librarian Narineh Hambardzumyan.
Library stock is constantly refreshed and resupplied through University funding, nowadays publications, subscriptions, donations made by official agencies and professors as Aitzemnik Stamboltsyan, Ani Aroyan, Emanuel Manukyan. Moreover, tremendous donation has been made by American Congress, California High School and the UN.
University Library is also supplied both by university publications and collections of scientific articles. Library falls into three subgroups – Academic (4000 items), Scientific and Fiction.
Since 2004 Library is equipped with three computers, arranged card-system and search resource foundation. Per day Library serves hundreds of students and professors. Along with, it supplies “Gladzor” school students with text-books.
Since 2006 Library occupies the large upper floor decorated with modern and comfortable furniture; divided into the book storage, reading hall, as well scientific and “Armenian Issue” reading halls recently supplied by a unique book sponsored by Yerevan “Gladzor” University – “History of the Armenian Genocide” by Vahagn Dadryan, Doctor of History.
Furthermore, University Library organizes a number of conferences, events dedicated to jubilees of world-famous writers, artists. The 1600th anniversary of “Creation of Armenian Letters” was celebrated with great splendor. Library acctively participates in the annual program-“Library Week” in Armenia.
