Yerevan Gladzor University Post Graduate department started to function in 2005. In 2005-2006 the head of the department was Gagik Hayrumyan. In October, 2006 the position of the chief department was transferred to Hasmik Stepanyan, PhD in Law.

Qualification examinations are held in the periods of October-November and May-June.
The number of students admitted to different post-graduate programs is as follows:
9 post graduate students in 2005-2006 educational year;
10 post graduate students in 2006-2007 educational year;
9 post graduate students in 2007-2008 educational year.
16 applicants were admitted to Yerevan Gladzor University in 2005-2010 educational year.
Among the alumni of Yerevan Gladzor University 11 of them have proceeded to PhD degree – 6 PhD in Law (H. Tovmasyan , N. Panosyan, K. Abrahamyan, N. Solomonyan, H. Stepanyan, N. Aleksanyan), 2 PhD in Economics (A. Hakobyan, G. Vardanyan), 2 PhD in Philology (M. Gevorgyan, H. Avetisyan), 1 PhD in History (T. Martoyan).

Students seeking admission to a PhD program are required to submit documents certifying test results on Foreign Language, Computer Science and computer skills according to the establish order set by RA Ministry of Science and Education. Stationary training is over 3 years, training by correspondence – 4 years.
In 2010-2011 academic year the student applying for PhD program is to take tests in a foreign language, Computer Science and Computer Skills (based on the established grade system) in the period of the graduation year:

For the registration as an applicant to the university, the person submits an abstract of the chosen specialization (20-25pp), and accordingly a decree is issued by RA State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles. During the trainings the applicant takes examinations in the subjects of foreign language, Computer Science and Philosophy as well as in the area he/she majors in. The application period is 5 years.
The thesis is approved by the scientific committee of RA State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles.
